The Araucaria project: High-precision orbital parallaxes and masses of binary stars

چکیده

Aims. We aim to measure very precise and accurate model-independent masses distances of detached binary stars. Precise at the < 1% level are necessary test calibrate stellar interior evolution models, while independent orbital parallaxes essential check for next Gaia data releases. Methods. combined RV measurements with interferometric observations determine physical parameters ten double-lined spectroscopic systems. report new relative astrometry from VLTI/GRAVITY and, some systems, VLT/UVES spectra radial velocities each component. Results. measured distance systems mass their components a precision as high 0.03% (average 0.2%). They other (effective temperatures, radii, flux ratios, etc.) fit isochrones stage age. also compared our showed that half stars beyond 1 σ parallaxes; although, RUWE is below frequently used cutoff 1.4 reliable astrometry. By fitting telluric features in GRAVITY spectra, we estimated accuracy wavelength calibration be ∼0.02% medium spectral resolution modes. Conclusions. demonstrate combining provides extremely dynamical parallaxes. As they binaries, can benchmark models

the relationship between academic self-concept and academic achievement in english and general subjects of the students of high school

according to research, academic self-concept and academic achievement are mutually interdependent. in the present study, the aim was to determine the relationship between the academic self-concept and the academic achievement of students in english as a foreign language and general subjects. the participants were 320 students studying in 4th grade of high school in three cities of noor, nowshah...

Precision Masses of the Low - Mass Binary System Gj 623

We have used Aperture Masking Interferometry and Adaptive Optics (AO) at the Palomar 200” to obtain precise mass measurements of the binary M dwarf GJ 623. AO observations spread over 3 years combined with a decade of radial velocity measurements constrain all orbital parameters of the GJ 623 binary system accurately enough to critically challenge the models. The dynamical masses measured are m...

On the Hipparcos parallaxes of O stars

We compare the absolute visual magnitude of the majority of bright O stars in the sky as predicted from their spectral type with the absolute magnitude calculated from their apparent magnitude and the Hipparcos parallax. We find that many stars appear to be much fainter than expected, up to five magnitudes. We find no evidence for a correlation between magnitude differences and the stellar rota...

Hipparcos parallaxes and the nature of δ Scuti stars ?

Hipparcos parallaxes give new tests of the nature of δ Sct variables. For many individual stars accurate distances are now available, i.e. directly determined luminosities and radii can be used to test theoretical models. Of particular interest are the at present very unclear relations between high–amplitude δ Sct stars and the much more abundant low–amplitude δ Sct variables, and the relations...

High Precision Spectrometers – HPS Project

The aim of this note is to inform the CMS Management about the status of the FP420 R&D project. Since autumn 2008 there has been significant progress on most of the issues raised by the CMS FP420 Review Panel. We also bring to the attention of the Management a new proposal to instrument the region at about 240 m from IP5, as well as our plans about a staged installation. Because of the 240 m ex...
